Let’s dissect this.

Hope is about the future.

Sure, we all want a better life and a better world.

But hope is a mental construct. It engages a desire, a yearning, even an expectation of something favorable. Perhaps you have a good reason to believe it will happen.

Yet, hope cannot make it so. Only action in the present moment can change our future.

We cannot control the actions of others, of course. We can only control our own minds, our own thoughts, and our own actions.

The answer is found in the present moment only.

American philosopher Vernon Howard [1918-1992] saw through the illusion of spiritual suffering in its many forms and showed the world the way to be free.
