Eternal Child

Human society is composed of little boys and girls who are afraid to grow up.

~ Vernon Howard - Cosmic Command, # 400

The Latin term Puer Aeternus [literally "eternal boy"] describes a psychology archetype - identifying individuals who struggle to grow up and who lack maturity beyond the adolescent stage.

This is not to be confused with youthfulness. It is more a fear of the demands of adult life, characterized by:

  • Fear of Commitment

  • Life Stagnation / Limbo

  • Failure to Realize Creative Potential

  • Struggle with Reality

The lack of a rite of passage for our young boys and girls has led us to a dangerous impasse. But we can change that if we have the heart for it.

American philosopher Vernon Howard [1918-1992] saw through the illusion of spiritual suffering in its many forms and showed the world the way to be free.

There is a web site that carries on his work where you can find his audio and written works, as well as sign up for a daily message. Click here.

Howard taught that our minds hold the key that unlocks the secrets of life. Once we discard the wrong ideas we hold about ourselves, we make room for Something Higher to enter.

From the web site: All his teachings center around one grand theme:

There is a way out of the human problem and anyone can find it.
