Complaints

It is a strange world. We make the world what it is and then complain about it. It is even stranger than that. The worst thing you can do to some people is to take away the cause of their beloved complaints.

~ Vernon Howard - STRANGE WORLD - REVEALED SECRETS ABOUT HUMAN NATURE

Some people love to complain. We all know someone like that – someone whose life is always in some kind of chaos and turmoil.

Do they want to change? I have found it to be unlikely.

A more important question is – do we make excuses for not living the life we truly want? Are these not a form of complaint?

As Vernon Howard said, we make the world what it is and then complain about it. Our external world is a mirror of our internal world.

If we don’t like that external world, are we complaining about it?

If the cause of our woes was removed, would we change our lives accordingly? Or do we relish the identity we have propped up – where we love to complain to others about it so we can feel better?

It is a tough question to face – but it leads to freedom.

American philosopher Vernon Howard [1918-1992] saw through the illusion of spiritual suffering in its many forms and showed the world the way to be free.

There is a web site that carries on his work where you can find his audio and written works, as well as sign up for a daily message. Click here.

Howard taught that our minds hold the key that unlocks the secrets of life. Once we discard the wrong ideas we hold about ourselves, we make room for Something Higher to enter.

From the web site: All his teachings center around one grand theme:

There is a way out of the human problem and anyone can find it.
